This week's article is about all the things the staffs of Animaxis personally love to recommend. From our thousands of items big and small, we have picked 15 favorite items.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Series

Since its release on February 6, 2010, the first "Haruhi Suzumiya" film "The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya" has been very popular in Japan. We have, and used to carry more of Haruhi goods that came out in the market, but what we like to recommend here, is a huge bath towel with a big picture of Haruhi in bunny girl's costume. If you love Haruhi in her cosplay - you can use it to wrap yourself, use it like a bed cover, or you can hang it on your wall like a giant wall tapestry!

We also offer another big towel featuring Yuki Nagato in her school uniform, and a sports towel depicting the MOE mascot character of the SOS Brigade, Mikuru Asahina as well.

If you like all the characters in the series - then we recommend its "Figure Meister Trading Figures: Beach-side Collection". In this figure series, you'd get to have Haruhi, Nagato, Mikuru, and Tsuruya-san figures in lovely swimming outfits! On the other hand, if you wish to have Asakura-san, then try out her figma figure

Something Nostalgic

Next, we offer something nostalgic - well, in the sense of us Japanese. Since we have so many manga and anime coming up in a year, when we look at something that were released few years back we feel kind of nostalgic. At Animaxis we basically offer things from new titles, but sometimes we also offer little old but kind of "brings you back to when you are younger" items as well.

One of our examples is a funky Children's Play set from "Tottoko Hamtaro". We have lots of other cute and practical toys like Sticker Maker and Badge Maker, but this Picnic Bag (Children's Play Set) is awesome!
Inside a plastic trunk, there are 2 plastic spoons, 2 forks, 2 plastic cups, 2 large plates, 2 small plates, and Hamutaro & Ribbon-chan PVC figures packed. If you have small children at home, then it will be a wonderful gift for them, or if you are collectors of good ol' Japanese goods - then this set would definitely bring you a smile!

We also offer Trading Relief Collection that consists of semi 3D character mascot made into magnets and safety pin from once popular "Di Gi Charat". Since each box is a sealed box and you don't know what's inside until you open the box, but that's what fun about all these trading stuff. We offer a BOX containing 16 boxes, or individual box to choose from.

Apart from these two titles, we offer Japanese girls' dream - Jenny dolls, a set of 3 PVC figures from "Steam Detectives", and more! If you have time to dig our site - then dig deep, and you might find something pretty rare!

Special Books

Finally, we put our spotlight on special books - meaning illustration books, guide books, etc. Books including this category and other books like comic books we usually back order them to the publisher, so it does take a while for us to restock them. (especially we are further away from our book dealer!) But the books we introduce here, we already have them in stock, and can ship anytime (as of February 25, 2010).

First, we offer "Yoshitaka Amano Illustration Works - MATEN". This is the first art collection by Yoshitaka Amano, who is known for various works including character designs of "Final Fantasy" videogame series. This book contains his artworks that were created at the early stage of 1980s.

Second, we offer Jun Suemi's art book titled "Gen". This book features the works created from 1985 to 1998, containing loads of fantastical works including illustrations created for "Makai Ishi (Demon Doctor) Mephisto", "The Guin Saga" series and more.

And we have lots more other good books for you to enjoy - for instance, the guide book to explore through the world of one of Japan's famous anime studio Madhouse, a lovely fan book from "Kyo Kara Maoh!" with a bonus audio drama CD, etc, etc...!

See what we offer, and see our history!
